    Ingredients & substitution notes

all ingredients needed to make a non-alcoholic holiday punch.
    • Pomegranate + Cranberry Juice: I recommend using 100% pomegranate or cranberry juice without any extra sugar added.
    • Ginger Ale: Use low-cal or sugar-free ginger ale if you want to ‘lighten’ this recipe up a little.
    • Orange: I recommend choosing an organic orange because we will also use the peel.
    • Brown Sugar: Could be replaced with coconut sugar or regular white sugar.

    See recipe card for quantities.

sugar and cinnamon on a small plate.

STEP 4: Cinnamon Sugar. Make the cinnamon sugar by whisking the cinnamon and sugar together.

rim of the glass being dipped into the sugar-cinnamon mix.

Add some extra cranberry juice to a small bowl. Dip the glass into the juice and gently shake the glass to get rid of any excess juice. Then dip the rim of the glasses into the cinnamon sugar. Serve the punch over ice cubes.

    Top Tips

    • Pure juices: Use pure juice without any additives (100% cranberries or pomegranates) and no added sugar.
    • Festive look: if you can, choose some elegant-looking, festive glassware to make the experience extra special.
    • Chilled juices: use chilled fruit juices and ginger ale to keep it refreshing.
    • Ginger ale: Make sure to really add the ginger ale shortly before serving to keep it fizzy.

    Variations

    • Adjust sweetness: for a less sweet version, you could use half ginger ale and half sparkling water or club soda. For a sweeter version, add a splash of maple syrup or sweetener of choice.
    • Cocktail: This can easily be turned into an alcoholic drink by replacing half of the ginger ale with sparkling wine.
3 glasses of holiday punch topped with a slice of orange and cranberries.

    Optional add-ins

    • Fresh mint leaves
    • Extra fruit
    • Rosemary
    • Lime slices

    Serving Suggestions

    • Appetizer: You can serve this holiday mocktail as an appetizer or paired with another appetizer such as this Vegetarian Charcuterie Board.
    • Main Dish: Pairs well with the festive flavors of this Vegetarian Wellington or Stuffed Acorn Squash.

    Make ahead option

It is a make-ahead recipe, as it needs to soak overnight anyways. Add ginger ale until the very last minute to avoid it going flat.

    Storage

The punch without the ginger ale can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Mix it up fresh for Christmas morning (brunch) or any other Christmas meal.

    FAQ

Can I turn this into an alcoholic punch?

Yes, this cranberry punch can easily be turned into an alcoholic drink by replacing half of the ginger ale with sparkling wine. Or add a splash of vodka or rum.
