My name is Katie and I am the face behind this website.
Nutrition, Healthy Food & Recipe Development
Growing up in a family that prepared a lot of homemade meals together, I have come into contact with cooking very early on. While I have always loved preparing food, my interest in nutrition and developing healthier recipes started during attending my nutrition courses at University. For the first time, I was intensively studying food and its impact on our body and I was hooked. I have spent a lot of time reading scientific studies not only during my time at university but also in my spare time and decided that using a big variety of plants and less animal products, would contribute immensely to a healthy body and mind.
I have started cooking more plant based meals a couple of years ago and ever since then have loved experiementing with food and developing recipes. While some work out immediately, others need quite some trial and error to achieve the desired outcome.
While I try to primarily use a wide range of whole foods in my recipes to make them as nutrious as possible, I also do create recipes that are indulgent and their sole purpose is to enjoy them.
As a result, you will find nutritious and tasty recipes as well as "tasty-only" recipes on this website 😋
(Food) Photography
I started taking pictures when I was in my teenage years and my dad got me a camera. It was a very old model- you still had adjust sharpness etc. manually by hand and always think twice before taking a picture because films for the camera were quite expensive (and I had to buy them from my pocket money). I was taking pictures all the time- mostly when we were travelling and have been loving it since then.
This year, I have started taking pictures, not only when travelling or being in nature, but also of the food I prepared. While it has required quite a bit of trial and error, I've come a long way in terms of finding my own style. So far I have loved the journey of developing my food photography skills very much and hope to be able to continue doing so.
With this site I have been able to combine my love for creating recipes and food photography- so go ahead, have a scroll and enjoy!
