These frozen roasted green beans make the perfect side dish when you're short on time. It's a super simple recipe that requires only 5 ingredients and 5 minutes of prep time.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450 g) frozen green beans
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • pinch of pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 430°F (220°C).
  • Add frozen green beans onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper (or grease with a nonstick cooking spray).
  • Drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Use your hands to toss well.
  • Spread the frozen beans evenly so that touch each other as little as possible (see step-by-step photos)
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with fresh herbs or parmesan cheese shortly before serving.

Notes

  • Serving Size: 1 pound of roasted frozen green beans serve 3 people as a side dish.
  • Bigger Batch: If you make a bigger batch, use a second baking sheet. Otherwise, the beans won't get roasted evenly.
  • Space out beans: this allows them to be cooked evenly instead of steaming up against each other, turning mushy.
  • De-ice: Get rid of as much ice on the beans as possible to ensure an even cook. Too much ice will cause steam around the beans and affect how crunchy they are.
  • To store: These beans can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Let them cool completely before storing them to keep their lovely texture. The best way to eat these beans is straight out of the oven.
