Frozen Spinach Smoothie

This frozen spinach smoothie is made from a couple of simple ingredients. It's packed with fruits and dark leafy greens without the taste of spinach!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups cubed pineapple (~½ pineapple) *fresh or frozen
  • 1 ripe, frozen banana
  • 1 kiwi *peeled
  • 1 frozen spinach square
  • 1 cup almond milk *or other milk of choice, see notes
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (or flax seeds) *optional

Instructions

  • Add all of the smoothie ingredients to a powerful blender and blend on high until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more bananas or dates or another preferred sweetener (honey...).
  • Add more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency.

Notes

  • Almond Milk: Feel free to use any other non-dairy milk of choice such as oat milk or soy milk. I haven't tried this smoothie with regular cow's milk but it will probably taste very similar. For a smoothie without any milk, try coconut water instead.
  • Blender: The stronger your blender, the smoother this green smoothie will turn out.
  • Storing: Store any leftover smoothie in a mason jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day. Give it a good stir before serving. However, it certainly tastes best when consumed right away.
