Banana Smoothie (no yogurt)

This banana smoothie is made without yogurt yet super creamy and delicious. It makes a great breakfast smoothie or healthy sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen bananas *ripe
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup oat milk *or other milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds *optional

Instructions

  • Put all of the ingredients into a strong blender and blend until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more frozen banana, a couple of dates or other sweetener of choice.
  • Gradually add more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency.

Notes

  • Frozen Bananas: To save time, keep a couple of chopped-up bananas in the freezer. That way you don't have to prepare this smoothie in advance and always have some frozen bananas on hand.
  • Ripe Bananas: The riper the banana, the sweeter the smoothie will be. Make sure to choose bananas that already have some brown spots.
  • Powerful Blender: For best results, I recommend using a high-speed blender such as a Vitamix. It will be strong enough to turn the frozen bananas into a creamy smoothie.
  • Add-In Ideas: Peanut butter, cocoa powder, nut butter, homemade vegan caramel, spices, fresh berries, frozen spinach
