These fierce and fiery little shot might take a little getting used to, but once you’re hooked, there’s no turning back. It's one of my favorite drinks during the colder winter months.

Peel fresh ginger and turmeric. I highly recommend wearing gloves because turmeric stains!
Then add all of the ingredients into a (high-speed) blender (preferably one with a glass jug). *see notes
1x 2,5 inch (6cm) piece of turmeric, 1x 2,5 inch (6cm) piece of ginger, juice of 3 lemons, 2 tablespoon maple syrup
Blend until smooth.
Place a nut milk bag, cheese cloth or fine-mesh strainer over a glass jar or bowl. Add the lemon ginger mix from the blender and strain. (See step-by-step photos)
Enjoy as is (it's preeetty strong though!) or dilute with water or juice.

Notes
Turmeric stains! It stains anything plastic (including the jug of your blender), your skin, cutting boards, and the nut milk bag/cheese cloth. Don’t leave the shots in contact with the equipment longer than necessary. Ensure you rinse the blender as quickly as possible, and use a glass blender jug if you can. Wearing gloves is a safe way to protect your hands, fingers and nails from turning bright orange.
Adjust strength + flavors: If the shot tastes to fiercy, dilute it with water, fresh orange juice, coconut water, or fruit juice for gentler flavors.
To store: Store your blend in an airtight container such as a glass or mason jar for up to 4 days.
To freeze: This mix will also keep really well in the freezer. I like to freeze mine in ice trays and pop out cubes to defrost as and when I need them.
