Roasted Frozen Brussels Sprouts

Give this healthy side dish a go the next time you’re looking for a simple and wholesome veggie dish. There is nothing on this ingredient list that you won’t find at your local grocery store. All the flavor you’re looking for in a tidy little side dish. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 24 oz (2x 12 oz) bags frozen brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Add frozen brussels sprouts to a medium bowl.
    24 oz (2x 12 oz) bags frozen brussels sprouts
  • Season with salt, garlic powder and olive oil and toss to coat.
    2 tablespoon olive oil, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Transfer the brussels sprouts to a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes. Give it a good stir every 10 minutes to ensure even baking.
  • Once golden brown, remove from the oven. Taste and adjust seasoning. Add a pinch of additional salt or sea salt if needed.

Notes

  • High temperature: For best results stick to a high temperature.
  • Toss evenly in the seasoning for the best flavor.
  • Even layer: arrange them in a single layer to ensure they cook evenly.
  • Optional variation: After the first minutes of roasting, you could cut each of the Brussels sprouts in half. Then continue baking cut side down for some extra crunch.
  • More flavor ideas: cheese (parmesan/ cheddar), balsamic vinegar, (1 tablespoon added shortly before serving), maple syrup (1 tablespoon added during the last 10 minutes of baking), drizzle of fresh lemon juice, pomegranate seeds
  • Storing: I do not recommend storing and reheating them. The texture isn’t as great anymore.
