There are
two
different
ratios to consider
with cold brew:

1. The ground coffee to water ratio 2. The finished coffee to water ratio

When preparing cold brew, the ratio is flexible but we went for a
1:8 ratio
(by volume).
This means that for
1 part coffee
you'll need
8 parts water
.

So if you use
4oz
of coarsely ground coffee, you'll need
32oz
of water (4 x 8 = 32). For a stronger concentrate, go for a
ratio of 1:5.

How you dilute your cold brew depends on
how strong you like your coffee
. If you're a fan of strong coffee, you could drink it straight as is.

Cold brew can be diluted with
water or milk
or
both
. Start with a ratio of
2
:1
(2 parts cold brew and 1 part water or milk). Taste and adjust.

You can prepare a cold brew either in a
French Press
(the french press cold brew ratio will be the same) or in a
mason jar
. You can also make a
decaf version
